On February 2, Kelly Clarkson revealed that this season of The Kelly Clarkson Show will be its last. In her statement posted to Instagram, she expressed heartfelt sentiments about her time on the show.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” Clarkson, 43, wrote. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
She elaborated on her decision to step away, stating that it allows her to “prioritize” her children. “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’” she noted. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
This announcement follows the recent passing of Clarkson’s ex-husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, who died from cancer in August. Clarkson shares two children with him: 11-year-old daughter River Rose and 9-year-old son Remington Alexander.

The Kelly Clarkson Show will continue to air until Fall 2026, featuring guest hosts during this final season. Clarkson reassured fans that “This isn’t goodbye,” mentioning her ongoing plans to release new music and serve as a judge on The Voice.
“I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” Clarkson concluded her statement.
Debuting in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show gained popularity for its unique segments, including the “Kellyoke,” where Clarkson performs covers of popular songs. This segment has resonated with audiences, leading fans to describe the transformative impact of her covers as “The Kelly Clarkson Effect.”
