Travis Clark Admits Infidelity in Marriage to Katie Bates
Travis Clark, husband of "Bringing Up Bates" alum Katie Bates, publicly acknowledged his infidelity in a candid statement shared via Instagram Stories on January 17. The 24-year-old admitted to having an affair and expressed remorse for the pain he caused his wife.
“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,” Clark stated. “I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did.”
He continued, "This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”
Bates, 25, and Clark married in December 2021 and welcomed two children, Hailey and Harvey, in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Clark’s statement included an apology directed at his wife, acknowledging the humiliation and betrayal his choices inflicted. “I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,” he said.
In a commitment to change, Clark revealed that he is seeking help and is “taking responsibility” for his actions. “I am getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome,” he stated. He also requested privacy for Katie as she processes the situation.

As of now, Katie Bates has not publicly commented on Clark’s admission. Earlier that same day, she revealed her heartbreak over a recent pregnancy loss, posting a nostalgic Instagram video that captured emotional moments from her pregnancy journey.
Katie, one of 19 children in the Bates family, followed the family practice of courtship, ultimately starting her relationship with Clark after meeting him through mutual friends at the age of 19. Their engagement occurred in April 2021, culminating in their marriage the following December.
Reflecting on their wedding day, the couple expressed, “This day has been worth all of the waiting, all of the dreaming and even worth all of the work of wedding planning.” They acknowledged the growth ahead in their marriage journey, now complicated by recent events.
