Katherine LaNasa has received critical acclaim for her role as the resilient and empathetic charge nurse, Dana Evans, in the acclaimed series “The Pitt.” Beyond her professional accolades, LaNasa is also a devoted mother to two children, Henry and Eloise.

LaNasa first embraced motherhood at the age of 23 with the birth of her son, Henry Lee Hopper, in 1990. At the time, she was married to the late actor Dennis Hopper, though the couple divorced two years later.

Two decades later, in August 2012, she married Grant Show. Their daughter, Eloise, was born in March 2014, marking a significant chapter in LaNasa’s life.

“I have children that are 24 years apart in age, so I feel like I’ve just been mothering my whole life,” LaNasa shared with the Associated Press in January 2026.

LaNasa’s son, Henry, was born on September 11, 1990. He grew up in Los Angeles, where he shared a special bond with his father, Dennis Hopper, whom he regarded as both an equal and mentor.

“He’s always treated me like an equal, never an authority figure,” Henry said in a 2008 interview. “I relate to him like a friend who’s been around 50 or 60 years more than me.”

Following in his family’s artistic footsteps, Henry made his acting debut at the age of six in the film “Kiss and Tell.” He remarked, “I was raised to value creativity and being myself.”

Despite a strong familial legacy in the entertainment industry, Henry hesitated to pursue acting due to firsthand observations of its challenges. After one year at the California Institute of the Arts, he briefly moved to Berlin before returning to California to focus on both art and acting.

In 2012, Henry faced legal troubles when a minor accused him of sexual assault. Although he denied the allegations, the matter was settled for an undisclosed amount in 2013. Since then, he has continued acting while keeping a relatively low profile.

LaNasa often highlights her son on social media. In 2023, she acknowledged him with an Instagram tribute, celebrating him as an exceptional family member alongside a collection of photographs.

Eloise McCue Show was born on March 25, 2014, weighing 6 lbs., 3 oz. LaNasa first shared the news of her arrival on social media, describing her newborn with affection.

In a joint appearance with her husband on the “Home & Family Show,” LaNasa reflected on her experience of motherhood later in life, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to welcome Eloise with assistance from modern science.

“Doing it now as opposed to doing it before is that I really appreciate her,” she said. “I feel so patient and I have such a perspective on life that I just find it so beautiful.”

Although she has openly discussed the challenges of having a geriatric pregnancy, LaNasa remains hopeful about the future of her children. Eloise has made a brief on-screen appearance in “The Pitt,” though it remains unclear whether she will pursue a career in acting like her family members.

“There’s a picture of [Dana’s] granddaughter on her desk. It’s my actual daughter, but she should be my granddaughter,” LaNasa explained in a recent interview, emphasizing the personal connection she intended to create through her character’s family dynamics.
