Kate Beckinsale Joins the Cast of 308 Entertainment’s Kidnap Action-Thriller ‘The Savior’
Kate Beckinsale to Star in Upcoming Action-Thriller ‘The Savior’
In breaking news, actress Kate Beckinsale has officially joined the cast of The Savior, an action-thriller directed by Russell Mulcahy, known for iconic films such as Highlander and Resident Evil: Extinction.
The film revolves around Jordyn Parker, portrayed by Beckinsale, a mother battling addiction who must confront a violent past to rescue her kidnapped daughter from human traffickers. The narrative promises a gritty exploration of desperation, drawing comparisons to films like Man on Fire, Collateral, and Sicario, alongside a dark atmosphere similar to Prisoners and Se7en.
Marc Furmie and Jason Mavraidis crafted the screenplay based on a story by Corey Large, who will also produce under his production company, 308 Entertainment. Executive producers include Jordan Nott, Furmie, and Tim Marlowe, while financing comes from Lorcan Kavanagh and Noora, along with pink308. Filming is expected to begin in late February.
Corey Large commented on the film, stating, “The Savior was based on the conceit that there is nothing a parent wouldn’t do to save their child – even if it means facing the darkest demons they have spent years burying. Russell has brought us some of the most iconic action movies and thrillers of the past 40 years, and we’re thrilled to have his vision behind this gritty, no holds barred screenplay.”
Beckinsale has recently starred in Wild Cat and Stolen Girl. She gained prominence following her role in the 1995 film Cold Comfort Farm and has since been known for her performances in the Underworld franchise, Pearl Harbor, The Aviator, Serendipity, and Love and Friendship.
Mulcahy is represented by Magnet Management, Independent Artist Group, and Paul Hastings. Additionally, 308 Entertainment is currently producing Unmerciful Good Fortune, a supernatural thriller featuring Rosario Dawson, directed by Tirsa Hackshaw, along with the film Raven, which stars Anthony Mackie, Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, Ron Livingston, and Hassie Harrison, directed by Tom Sierchio.
