Julia Roberts Receives a Heartfelt Standing Ovation at the Golden Globes: “I’ll Be Riding High for Days”
Julia Roberts received a standing ovation while presenting one of the final awards at the Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton.
As she took the stage, the audience rose to their feet, showering the Hollywood star with applause and cheers.
Celebrities like Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Emma Stone, Ethan Hawke, Kate Hudson, and Mark Ruffalo were seen on screen enthusiastically applauding Roberts.
“Emma Stone — she’s like, ‘What the hell is going on right now?’” Roberts remarked as the audience continued to celebrate her presence.
Once the cheers subsided, Roberts expressed her gratitude, saying, “Wow. Thank you! I’m going to be impossible for at least a week. I appreciate that.”
Roberts was nominated for the Actress in a Drama Motion Picture award for her role in the psychological thriller After the Hunt. She competed in the category with Tessa Thompson, Eva Victor, Renate Reinsve, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jessica Buckley, who ultimately won for her performance in Hamnet.
“What a great night. What a beautiful night to be an artist,” Roberts stated before announcing the nominees for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. “This is 2026. We’re going straight to the top on this.”
She concluded the night by presenting the trophy for One Battle After Another, which won against films including Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague.
