Josh O’Connor Shares His Unique Experience Working with Steven Spielberg on ‘Disclosure Day’
With the premiere of Disclosure Day fast approaching on June 12, actor Josh O’Connor has shared insights into the extensive measures taken by Steven Spielberg to maintain the secrecy of the film’s script.
In a recent interview, the Golden Globe winner recounted the unique circumstances surrounding the delivery of the screenplay, penned by David Koepp. O’Connor received the script while filming Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery in the UK, with a motorbike arriving to deliver the pages and another to retrieve them the very next morning.
“There was, of course, a level of secrecy,” O’Connor told the Associated Press. “That’s the first time that’s happened for me.”
He further remarked, “It’s a very strange experience, but it makes sense. Anytime you hear that Steven’s got a film coming out, everyone, myself included, wants to know what it is, so I totally understand why.”

While details about the plot remain limited, Disclosure Day is described as a sci-fi thriller featuring O’Connor as Daniel, a cybersecurity expert privy to long-held government secrets regarding extraterrestrial life, who plans to expose this information as a whistleblower.
Spielberg, known for his prior explorations of life beyond Earth in films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), expressed his ongoing fascination with the subject during a recent appearance at CinemaCon. “It’s entirely shrouded in mystery,” he stated to Disclosure Day actor Colman Domingo. “There are those who know exactly what is happening in our skies, and this movie will cause you to ask a lot of questions.”
He added, “This is a movie that needs to be experienced, and what you need to get from the beginning to the end is a seatbelt.”
