Bryce Dallas Howard Cast in Curry Barker’s New Project ‘Anything But Ghosts’
Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast in Curry Barker’s upcoming film, Anything But Ghosts, which is set to be released by Focus Features. The project is also produced by Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures, and Divide/Conquer.
Howard joins a cast that includes Barker, Aaron Paul, and Cooper Tomlinson, who were announced earlier.
This casting news arrives shortly before Barker’s film Obsession is set to premiere on May 15. Focus Features acquired the project for over $10 million at the Toronto Film Festival.
Anything But Ghosts is directed by Barker, who co-wrote the screenplay with longtime collaborator Tomlinson.
The film is produced by Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Roy Lee and Steven Schneider (Spooky Pictures), Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath (Divide/Conquer), in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea. Executive producers include Barker, Tomlinson, and Ben Ross from Image Nation.

Howard’s diverse filmography includes notable titles such as the British comedy Deep Cover from Amazon MGM Studios, Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle, and the Jurassic World series. She also appeared in the Elton John biopic Rocketman, Disney’s Pete’s Dragon, and Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter, among others. Notably, Howard received a Golden Globe nomination in 2008 for her performance in HBO’s As You Like It, directed by Kenneth Branagh. Her stage credits include appearances in Broadway’s Tartuffe, the Public Theater’s As You Like It, and the Manhattan Theater Club’s House/Garden.
As a director, Howard has contributed to six seasons of the Star Wars universe through The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew. She has also directed and produced feature documentaries such as Dads for Apple TV and Pets for Disney+, with plans to direct and produce All of Her for Lionsgate.
In addition to her work as an actress and director, Howard is the founder of Nine Muses Entertainment and has taught at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her TED Talk on digital identity was recognized as one of the most newsworthy ideas of 2022.
