JoJo Siwa has provided a health update following a recent health scare. The singer and reality star, 22, shared insights on TikTok after being rushed to the hospital prior to a scheduled performance at the Mall of America on November 28. In her video, Siwa revealed she was experiencing severe stomach pain.
“So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” Siwa explained in the clip. Initially attributing the pain to menstrual cramps, she later realized that the discomfort was more serious when the pain intensified on Friday morning.
“I laid down, I closed my eyes, and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe,’” she recalled. Siwa sought relief by taking a bath, but the pain escalated, prompting her to call her mother. “My mom asked if she should call 911, and I said yes,” she added.
Upon arrival of the emergency medical technicians, her vital signs appeared normal, yet the pain persisted. A subsequent ultrasound at the hospital revealed that Siwa had a cyst on one of her ovaries that had burst, leading to internal bleeding. “So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain — anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that’s the bleeding in the stomach,” she clarified.
Despite the ordeal, Siwa was able to return for her performance, thanks to pain medication. However, she plans to follow up with medical professionals within the week to monitor her condition. “We’re going to keep it pushing, and if I vomit or if I have that excruciating pain burst again, I got to go immediately back in, but we should be okay,” she remarked.
Siwa expressed gratitude to her medical team and fans for their support, noting that she was discharged just two hours after being admitted. Although recovering, she indicated that she is not yet back to feeling “100%.”
