John Patrick Jordan Cast in Season 5 of AMC’s ‘Dark Winds’
John Patrick Jordan Joins AMC’s Dark Winds for Season 5
John Patrick Jordan, known for his role in The Accountant 2, has been cast in a significant recurring role in Season 5 of AMC’s Dark Winds. Production for the new season is currently underway in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Dark Winds, based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee book series, is set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley. The series follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn, portrayed by Zahn McClarnon, as he navigates a series of seemingly unrelated crimes that force him to confront echoes of his past. Accompanying him is his new deputy, Jim Chee, played by Kiowa Gordon, who also grapples with unresolved issues from his youth on the reservation. Together, Leaphorn and Chee face both external and internal battles while seeking redemption.
The fourth season centers on the urgent search for a missing Navajo girl, leading Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito (Jessica Matten) from the security of the Navajo Nation into the perilous landscape of 1970s Los Angeles. They race against time to save her from a killer linked to organized crime.
While plot details for Season 5 remain undisclosed, Jordan will portray Dale Hicks, a newly assigned FBI agent at the Sheriff’s department. As he partners with Leaphorn and Alvarado (Paola Núñez), Hicks soon becomes territorial upon uncovering interference within his department’s investigations.
As previously reported, Martin Sensmeier will join the cast as a series regular, playing Terry Bai, a former Vietnam veteran now working at a racetrack. Additionally, Noel Fisher will appear as Michael Jorie, a dangerous killer with a distorted sense of justice, while Devin Sampson-Craig will portray Daniel Ironwater, Jr., a conflicted ranch-hand grappling with the aftermath of his Vietnam experience.
Dark Winds is created by Graham Roland and showrun by John Wirth, both of whom serve as executive producers alongside notable names such as Robert Redford, George R.R. Martin, and Anne Hillerman.
Looking ahead, Jordan will also feature in Prime Video’s Spider-Noir and I Play Rocky, directed by Peter Farrelly.
