Joanna Lumley Takes on a New Role as a Regular Cast Member for Season 3 of ‘Wednesday’ After a Departure
BFFs Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and Enid (Emma Myers) may have contrasting temperaments and color preferences, but they share a common struggle—unluckiness in love. For the second consecutive season, a character introduced as a romantic interest for one of the roommates has exited the show after just one year.
The departure of Percy Hynes White, who portrayed Wednesday’s love interest, Xavier Thorpe, after Season 1, precedes the exit of Noah B. Taylor’s character, Bruno Yuson, ahead of Season 3.
Bruno’s romantic journey with Enid was cut short when she discovered his unresolved relationship with an ex-girlfriend, culminating in his decision to leave Nevermore with her.

In another notable development, Granmama Hester Frump, played by Joanna Lumley, will see her role expand in Season 3 as she is promoted to a series regular. Introduced in Season 2, Hester is a wealthy mortuary mogul with a strained relationship with her daughter Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Her character was last seen in the Season 2 finale descending into her mansion’s basement, where her long-missing daughter Ophelia, previously confined to Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, is imprisoned. Ophelia will be portrayed by Eva Green, who is set to become a major character in Season 3.
Lumley, best known for her work on *Absolutely Fabulous*, joins a returning cast that includes Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Myers as Enid Sinclair, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, and several others. Notably, Fred Armisen will reprise his role as Uncle Fester.
Additionally, Winona Ryder will join Season 3 as a recurring guest star, reuniting with director Tim Burton and her *Beetlejuice* co-star Ortega, along with writers Al Gough and Miles Millar.
Gough and Millar serve as creators, writers, showrunners, and executive producers for *Wednesday*, with Burton also taking on directing and executive production roles. MGM Television is the studio behind the series.
