Jesse Armstrong and Henry Winkler to Appear at the Banff World Media Festival
The Banff World Media Festival has announced that Jesse Armstrong, creator of the acclaimed series Succession, and Henry Winkler, known for his role in Happy Days, will join its upcoming program.
Armstrong, an Emmy Award-winning writer behind HBO’s Succession as well as projects like Mountainhead and Peep Show, is set to participate in a keynote session moderated by CBC Q’s Tom Power. Winkler will engage audiences in an “In Conversation” talk, discussing his extensive career and recent creative endeavors.
Additional speakers announced for the festival include Georgie Holt, CEO of FlightStory, and Adam Cunningham, CEO of Allied Global Marketing.
Scheduled for June 14–17, 2026, the 47th annual Banff World Media Festival will take place at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

In a recent announcement, the festival revealed that Jinny Howe from Netflix would also keynote the event. Other notable speakers include David Madden, President of Webtoon Productions at Wattpad; Melissa Ahlstrand, Marketing Director of Americas for Hayu; Justin Stockman, VP of Content Development & Programming at Bell Media; and Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment Partnerships at TikTok. These speakers will participate in a specialized track titled “Fandom Wednesday,” which will delve into fan-driven ecosystems and community building.
