### Jelly Roll Celebrates Weight Loss with Bunnie Xo at Pre-Grammy Gala
Jelly Roll showcased a striking transformation as he walked the red carpet at the January 31 Pre-Grammy Gala, alongside his wife, Bunnie Xo. The country artist, who has lost nearly 300 pounds, appeared nearly unrecognizable, drawing attention with his all-black textured suit.
At the gala, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, revealed that he now weighs around 265 pounds, down from his previous weight of 550 pounds. Bunnie Xo, adorned in a skintight latex dress, added to the glamour of the evening. Comically acknowledging the challenges of her outfit, she remarked, “I had to literally use lube to get into this outfit.”
This event marked a celebratory occasion for the couple, who sat together before Jelly Roll’s performance paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The couple has two children, Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah Buddy, 9.
“Getting ready for the big night involved lubrication, which was actually a lot of fun,” Jelly explained, prompting laughter from Bunnie, who echoed his sentiment about the outfit.
Despite what some might perceive as a wardrobe misadventure, Jelly Roll took it all in stride. He expressed enjoyment during the preparation, saying, “Listen, as a husband, man, 10 out of 10 experience.” He went on to share humorous remarks about the dress, indicating he might not want to take it off.
As they engaged in playful banter about the outfit, Bunnie jokingly accused him of having a “latex fetish.” Jelly Roll responded lightheartedly, suggesting that the latex could shine like an automobile after some care.
Beyond the festivities, Jelly Roll has remained candid about his weight loss journey and its positive impact on his life. The musician began focusing on his health in 2022 and has since undergone a lifestyle transformation. In earlier conversations, he shared insights into his previous struggles and how losing weight has shifted tour culture to prioritize healthy habits over unhealthy ones.
“I’ve been fat my whole life,” he stated during an earlier interview, relating how his mother nicknamed him Jelly Roll, a name he felt he grew into over the years. His ongoing transformation not only reflects a significant personal achievement, it has also rejuvenated his energy, allowing him to enjoy aspects of life he previously took for granted.
“Honestly, I feel like I’m a teenager again,” he remarked in an interview, adding that losing weight has revived his youthful vitality in his marriage.
