JD Vance Weighs In on the Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Feud

The Vice President of the United States has inserted himself into one of rap’s most prominent feuds, with JD Vance expressing support for Nicki Minaj over Cardi B. In a post on X on December 10, Vance succinctly stated, “Nicki > Cardi.”
This endorsement follows a now-deleted post by Minaj, who shared a photo from the *Child’s Play* franchise, accompanied by the phrase “Vance > Rants.” Although the original post is no longer available, screenshots from fans captured the moment. On Thursday, she followed up with, “Vance > Ants in the pants,” posting a photo of 50 Cent smiling.
Shortly thereafter, Minaj tweeted, “The Vance > The Gav Nots,” adding, “Nothing brings me joy like the Vance memes & knowing he leaned into it like a boss … But make no mistake, Vance is an assassin. Don’t debate him. On anything. Quick as a computer. Maybe quicker.”
Billboard has reached out to Cardi B’s representative for comment.
The rivalry between Minaj and Cardi B dates back to 2017, following their collaboration on Migos’ “MotorSport.” Minaj had taken offense at Cardi’s remarks about the track during an interview with *Capital XTRA*, which escalated into a physical altercation at a New York Fashion Week event in 2018. Despite appearing to make amends in the past, the two have exchanged numerous jabs, culminating in a heated social media exchange on X earlier this year.
While Cardi B has been vocal about her opposition to the Donald Trump administration, Minaj has increasingly aligned herself with the MAGA movement. In November, she posted on X expressing her gratitude for Trump’s attention to the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria. This sentiment was echoed during her address at a United Nations event in New York.
“I would like to thank President Trump for prioritizing this issue,” Minaj stated from the podium. “And his leadership on the global stage in calling for urgent action to defend Christians in Nigeria and to combat extremism and to bring a stop to violence against those who simply want to express their natural right to freedom of religion or belief.”
