Jake Johnson Hints at a ‘New Girl’ Reunion: Everyone’s Onboard Except Lamorne
The beloved comedy series New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, came to an end nearly eight years ago. Since then, the cast has reunited for a voting PSA in 2020 and participated in a gathering at last year’s Actors Awards. However, fans are left wondering if a more substantial reunion might be on the horizon, especially in an age when revivals continue to gain popularity on streaming platforms.
“Everyone is on board except for Lamorne,” joked cast member Max Greenfield.
When asked why, Greenfield responded, “Because he got an Emmy and he thinks they’re better than us.” He went on to quote Morris, saying, “I’m too talented and too funny to be on a sitcom with you, hacks.”
Lamorne Morris won a Supporting Actor Limited Series Emmy for his performance in the fifth season of Fargo. He also stars in Greenfield’s latest film, The Sun Never Sets, directed by Joe Swanberg.
“The things he’s said about me—Max, it’s disgusting!” Greenfield quipped.
He further added, “The Emmy went to his head, I’m going to say that really clearly. It changed you, my man, but come back to the real you. I’ve also talked to your family about this!”
Greenfield urged fans to voice their support for the reunion, stating, “By the way, we’re with the fans. All the fans want it too, write to Lamorne on Instagram. Because he doesn’t want it. He doesn’t like the fans!”
In the series finale, Nick and Jess were last seen tying the knot in a hospital, while Winston welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Aly (Nasim Pedrad).
