Is Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season of ‘The Bachelorette’ Going to Air? Insights from Disney’s Reality TV Chief
Will Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season of The Bachelorette Ever See the Light of Day?
The future of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette remains uncertain following the show’s recent cancellation. Just days before its anticipated premiere, Season 22 was pulled after a video surfaced documenting a 2023 domestic violence incident involving Paul and her ex-partner, Dakota Mortenson. Disney executives are currently deliberating their next steps.
At present, ABC and Hulu executives, led by Mills, are prioritizing Paul’s well-being as she navigates the aftermath of recent events. Alongside the cancellation of The Bachelorette, production on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been halted indefinitely due to new domestic violence allegations that have emerged this year.
“It’s a good question,” Mills commented when asked about the potential air date of Paul’s season. “On a personal level … we want to make sure she’s OK.”
Filming for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has now resumed, with Disney expressing a willingness to welcome Paul back whenever she is ready. Earlier this month, Paul took to social media to reflect on her journey of healing following these turbulent times.
“Here come the ugly parts of what healing actually looks like,” she noted in an Instagram post. “If you know me you know I’ll admit my parts, flaws, and faults. I’m well aware that’s a part of it. We’ll get there. This public atrocity that I not only lived through once but twice now, on even a bigger scale was ultimately the cost to my freedom. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy or even the ones who publicized it. I cried on my knees in pain while also saying THANK YOU we have a road ahead but regardless I’m forever freed from a certain living hell I couldn’t find my way out of.”
