High School Basketball Results: Saturday Update
Boys’ Basketball
In an exciting day of competition, local high schools showcased their talent across two sections on Saturday.
In the City Section, the standout performances included L.A. Marshall defeating Verdugo Hills with a final score of 70-61 and L.A. Wilson overpowering Downtown Magnets 74-58. Triumph Charter edged Bravo in a closely contested match, finishing 91-85. Other notable results featured Maywood CES defeating Elizabeth 48-34 and View Park narrowly besting Lincoln 50-46.
In the Southern Section, Adelanto emerged victorious over Los Altos 52-38, while Burbank dominated Norco 84-63. California secured a solid win against Campbell Hall, finishing 70-50. Cerritos and Claremont also earned convincing victories, scoring 64-55 and 79-51, respectively.
Notably, San Bernardino pulled off a thrilling 84-81 win against Paramount, while Sierra Canyon secured a decisive 69-40 victory over Crean Lutheran.
Girls’ Basketball
In girls’ basketball, City Section games saw Bernstein defeat South Gate 60-46, and South East triumph over Rancho Dominguez with a staggering 57-3 scoreline.
The Southern Section reported significant wins as well, with Bonita defeating Schurr 48-16 and Camarillo beating Orcutt Academy 56-39. Chaparral showcased its strength, overpowering Temescal Canyon 73-32. In a tightly-fought matchup, JSerra managed to secure a 52-35 win against Camarillo.
Riverside King marked a highlight in intersectional play with a solid 59-44 victory against North County San Marcos, while Sierra Canyon bested Thornton, Colorado’s Riverdale Ridge 70-51.
