High School Student Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Classmate with Metal Knuckles
Student Arrested at Banning High School Following Weapon Threat
BANNING, Calif. – A Banning High School student was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly threatening a classmate with metal knuckles, sparking a violent confrontation with law enforcement that resulted in one officer being injured.
The incident unfolded shortly after 9 a.m. when School Resource Officers received reports of a student brandishing metal knuckles on campus. Upon arrival, officers discovered the student, who then reportedly jumped a perimeter fence and fled the scene.
Authorities located the student at the intersection of San Gorgonio Avenue and Lincoln Street. During the attempt to detain him, he physically resisted arrest, leading to a struggle in which one officer sustained injuries and required medical attention.
The student was subsequently taken into custody and booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hall on multiple charges, including obstructing or resisting an officer, possession of a weapon on school grounds, possession of metal knuckles, and making terroristic threats.
The Banning Police Department’s Detective Bureau is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
