In an action-packed Wednesday for high school basketball, several teams showcased their talent across the City and Southern Sections, as well as in intersectional matchups.
In the boys’ City Section, AMIT defeated Sun Valley Magnet with a score of 59 to 38. Other notable performances included Bernstein’s dominating win over Contreras, 71 to 26, and Hollywood’s overwhelming victory against Belmont, winning 104 to 10. LA Hamilton narrowly edged Downtown Magnets with a close score of 71 to 69, while RFK Community triumphed over Jefferson 73 to 70 in another tightly contested game.
In the Southern Section, Chadwick delivered a strong performance, defeating Paramount 91 to 63. Other highlighted games featured Gabrielino defeating Mountain View by a significant margin of 91 to 46, and North Torrance earning a decisive victory against Bellflower, 75 to 30.
The intersectional matchups saw Dorsey overcome Lawndale by a score of 60 to 55. Grace also recorded a solid win against Panorama, finishing 68 to 34.
On the girls’ side, the City Section’s standout game was AMIT’s narrow victory over Sun Valley Magnet, 25 to 20. Cleveland posted a strong win against North Hollywood, ending 64 to 24. Hollywood also demonstrated their strength with a decisive win over Belmont, 63 to 13.
In the Southern Section, Agoura dominated Simi Valley with a score of 65 to 38, while Flintridge Prep achieved a remarkable victory over Westridge, 85 to 9. Gabrielino also stood out with a commanding win against Mountain View, ending 81 to 4.
These results reflect a competitive atmosphere across the high school basketball landscape, highlighting the exceptional skills and determination of young athletes.
