Hesperia High School Wrestling Coach Arrested for Alleged Misconduct
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. – Gene Richard Griffith III, a wrestling coach at Hesperia High School, was arrested on Wednesday following a police investigation into allegations of lewd acts involving a minor.
The inquiry, initiated by the Specialized Investigations Division’s Crimes Against Children Detail, commenced on May 5 after reports surfaced regarding Griffith’s alleged misconduct. Detectives soon identified him as the primary suspect and subsequently booked him into the High Desert Detention Center.
Authorities have not disclosed specific details regarding the age of the victim or the timeline of the alleged misconduct. There is also uncertainty about the number of potential additional victims and whether the incidents occurred on school property.
Detectives believe there may be further victims and are encouraging community members to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
