Hayley Williams Clears Up Rock Rumors About Her Involvement in Beyoncé’s ‘Act III’

If rumors about Beyoncé’s forthcoming album being rock-inspired hold true, few would be better suited as a guest artist than Hayley Williams.
At a recent solo performance in Maryland on April 15, a fan directly questioned Williams about her potential involvement in Beyoncé’s upcoming project, referred to as Act III. In a video from the concert, Williams playfully responded, “What do you want me to do if I am?”
“Girl, I don’t know if I am or not,” she continued. “I have no answer. I wish I could tell you. If I could tell anyone, it would be you right now.”
Williams further noted, “You might know before I do.”
Beyoncé has been releasing a trilogy of albums since 2022, beginning with Act I, Renaissance. The second album, Act II, Cowboy Carter, released in 2024, has also performed exceptionally well, both albums topping the Billboard 200.
Each project has introduced distinct genre shifts for the Destiny’s Child alum; Renaissance explored dance music while Cowboy Carter ventured into country. Speculation about the genre direction of Act III is rampant, with many betting on a shift towards rock. Given that Cowboy Carter included various guest artists, from Dolly Parton to Willie Nelson, the finale of this trilogy could similarly feature collaborations.
With these considerations, Williams—a prominent figure in modern rock—seems like an ideal candidate for a role on Beyoncé’s eagerly awaited next album. Meanwhile, Williams is currently on tour promoting her 2025 album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. Following her Maryland performance, she is scheduled to appear at The Fillmore in Minneapolis on April 17, continuing with further dates across the United States this spring and Europe this summer.
