Kathryn Newton Steps Back into the MCU as Cassie Lang in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ After ‘Quantumania’
Kathryn Newton is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday after her role in this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The star, known for her role in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, will reprise her character, Cassie Lang, in the Marvel film scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
Newton shared the news on her Instagram, showcasing a miniature director’s chair featuring her name. This gesture mirrored the studio’s method of announcing the cast for the ensemble superhero film.
“And it’s tiny because Cassie Lang gets tiny,” Newton remarked in the video. “She’s small, but sometimes she’s big. It depends what’s happening.”
In the video, Newton placed her Avengers cap on the chair before exiting her trailer, where a team of hair and makeup artists awaited to prepare her for the next scene.
In Avengers: Doomsday, Cassie Lang will reconnect with her father, Scott Lang, portrayed by Paul Rudd. The film features a star-studded cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Thing, and Kelsey Grammer as Beast.
Additionally, the film will showcase actors Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
