Marty Supreme centers on Timothée Chalamet’s character, Marty Mauser, a shoe salesman in 1950s New York City who is determined to become the world’s best table tennis player. Directed by Josh Safdie, the film also stars Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
Paltrow and Chalamet garnered attention during filming in October 2024, when they were spotted filming romantic scenes in Central Park. Paltrow later commented on the film’s explicit content, stating, “I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie,” emphasizing that it is a substantial element of the narrative.

In a later interview, Paltrow provided more insight into her approach to filming intimate scenes, recalling a time when she turned down a sex scene in the 1998 adaptation of Great Expectations due to concerns about her father’s reaction. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, my father’s going to have a heart attack,’” she reflected, revealing her apprehensions about how such scenes would be perceived by her family.
Marty Supreme is currently in theatres.
