On Patrol: Live Returns for Season 5, Plus New Spinoff On Patrol: First Shift Announced
EXCLUSIVE: On Patrol: Live has been renewed by Reelz for another 90 episodes, extending the series into its fifth season.
The renewal also includes the spinoff series On Patrol: First Shift, which will air alongside its predecessor, ensuring the franchise continues through at least January 2027.
This announcement comes on the heels of On Patrol: Live reaching a significant milestone, celebrating its 300th episode in October.
Premiering in July 2022, On Patrol: Live utilizes over 50 cameras stationed across the nation to offer real-time insights into the daily operations of law enforcement personnel on patrol. Hosted by Dan Abrams, the program features analysts including Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina, Captain Tom Rizzo from the Howell Township Police Department in New Jersey, Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin, a retired lieutenant from the Tulsa Police Department, and a rotating panel of experts.
The series broadcasts live on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. and is also available for streaming on Peacock.

The executive production team includes Dan Cesareo, John Zito, Lucilla D’Agostino, Paul Gordon, Joe Venafro, and Abrams himself.
“In today’s fragmented media landscape, a pickup of 90 episodes—360 hours of live television—is virtually unheard of; yet Reelz has done this for four consecutive years as On Patrol: Live continues to deliver for the network and cultivate one of the most engaged and loyal audiences in television,” said Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard. “We couldn’t be prouder to renew OPL through next January and bring viewers along for the ride.”
Abrams noted, “OPL not only chronicles the experiences of law enforcement in real-time, but the show also makes a tangible difference through our ‘Missing’ and ‘Be on the Lookout’ segments. We disseminate information weekly about ongoing cases of missing children and unsolved crimes. Thanks to our viewers and our #OPNation social footprint, since our premiere in 2022, the show has assisted in returning 48 missing people to their loved ones and provided tips that led to the capture of 96 suspects. We’re immensely grateful to our incredible audience and excited to continue our partnership with Reelz for another year.”
