Vince Vaughn recently reminisced about fatherhood while celebrating his career milestone with his children, Locklyn and Vernon.
The actor, best known for his role in IF, shared that he felt unprepared for parenthood until he became engaged to his now-wife, Kyla Weber, in 2009. He expressed to PEOPLE that this engagement marked the moment he truly desired to start a family.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Locklyn Kyla, in December 2010, a moment Vaughn described as a pivotal shift in his life. He stated, “Parenthood gave me a different purpose,” speaking about the joy of being a father.
Before the birth of their second child, Vernon Lindsay, in 2013, Vaughn conveyed his enthusiasm for fatherhood, telling E! News, "All kids bring their own joy; it’s a lot of fun."
In August 2024, Vaughn’s family attended his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. During his acceptance speech, he took a moment to express his love for his children: "As much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, you guys are the most important thing in the world to me. I love you very much."

Locklyn, born on December 18, 2010, carries her mother’s Scottish heritage in her name. Vaughn has shared that his daughter had a close friendship with Owen Wilson’s son, Ford, during their childhood, as both families spent time together on-set while filming The Internship in 2012.
Locklyn has also made her mark as a fan of Disney’s Frozen, especially resonating with the character Elsa. Vaughn recalled her obsession with the character during a 2015 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, highlighting the imaginative nature of his daughter.
In a 2020 interview, Vaughn noted Locklyn’s interest in comedy and sports, revealing she played on a competitive soccer team. Their bond was visible during a recent NBA game, where they shared a memorable moment.

Vernon Lindsay Vaughn was born on August 7, 2013, named after his grandfather. The young boy has developed an unusual fondness for horror films—a preference his father amusingly acknowledged in interviews. Vaughn shared that he once watched the original Dirty Harry with Vernon when he was just seven years old, noting, “I don’t know how this plays out, but I did it.”
Vaughn has described Vernon as sweet and generous, especially when it came to sharing his toys with friends. His dedication to sports has also mirrored that of his sister, as Vaughn often balances attending the children’s various sports events, joking about the complexities involved in their busy schedules.
Overall, Vince Vaughn’s reflections underscore the joy and meaning that parenthood brings to his life, a sentiment echoed in the moments he cherishes with Locklyn and Vernon.
