Stanley Tucci, the acclaimed actor known for his role in The Devil Wears Prada, embraces his identity as a devoted family man. He is the father of five children, sharing his three eldest with his late wife, Kate Tucci, who passed away from breast cancer in 2009. The twins Izabel and Nicolo are now 26, along with their sister Camilla, who is 21 years old. Following his marriage to Felicity Blunt in October 2012, Tucci welcomed two additional children, Matteo, aged 11, and Emilia, aged 7.
In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Tucci spoke candidly about the challenges his wife faced in stepping into the role of a stepparent to his three older children. "It is not easy to find somebody who is going to take on three teenagers and a widower,” he shared. “That’s a lot. But she was willing to take on that challenge. She cares for the kids as if they are her own, and it is a tough role, being a step-parent.”
While Tucci often shares culinary creations on social media, he maintains a private approach regarding his family. He frequently expresses his affection for fatherhood in interviews but keeps his children away from public attention.
Isabel and Nicolo Tucci, 26
Fraternal twins Isabel Concetta Tucci and Nicolo Robert Tucci were born on January 21, 2000, in New York City. They have largely remained out of the public eye, but Nicolo briefly ventured into acting, appearing as Max in a 2019 episode of the mini-series MotherFatherSon featuring Richard Gere.
In various interviews, Tucci has reflected on his children’s personalities and sense of humor. “I do joke around with my kids … We laugh a lot,” he noted, labeling his three eldest as “great kids” filled with an impressive sense of humor. Despite his fame, Tucci revealed that his children are not particularly interested in his film career, stating, “My kids don’t really like to watch me in movies. They just want me to be me.”
In 2015, Isabel and Nicolo made a rare public appearance with their father and sister Camilla during the Audi Polo Challenge in London.
Camilla Tucci, 21
Camilla Tucci, born in 2002, is Tucci’s third child with his late wife. Like her siblings, she has mostly been raised away from the spotlight. Tucci once recounted how his children reacted to his portrayal of a serial killer in The Lovely Bones, stating, “They saw me dressed up as Mr. Harvey and were like, ‘Oooo. That’s really disgusting.’”
When asked about handling the darker aspects of his roles, he humorously explained, “I just say, ‘And then the girl dies and I’m the person who kills her.’ They’ll say, ‘Why do you kill her, Dad?’ and I’ll say, ‘Because he’s a very sick person.’”
After losing their mother to cancer, Tucci reflected on his family’s grief, expressing sadness about the time his children could not spend with Kate, calling her an “extraordinary person.”
Matteo Oliver Tucci, 11
Tucci’s first child with Felicity Blunt, Matteo Oliver Tucci, was born on January 25, 2015. Tucci humorously remarked about his new role as a father: “I believe he is mine. We are all thrilled to welcome him to this cold, cruel world.”
Emphasizing the importance of family traditions, Tucci mentioned, “Bringing up my own kids, with my wife Kate, we sat down to dinner every night together. We both loved cooking.” This practice continues with his current family as well.
Tucci also humorously described the challenges of parenting in his 50s, saying, “Fatherhood [this time around] with our young son is great, although it is a little tougher when bending down to pick him up.”
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Tucci noted that Matteo had adopted distinctive speech patterns, adding, “We don’t know why he’s so posh. My wife isn’t really posh, she speaks eloquently. I just don’t get it.”
Emilia Giovanna Tucci, 7
Emilia Giovanna Tucci, born on April 19, 2018, is Tucci and Blunt’s second child together. Tucci joked about her genes, saying, “Hopefully she will have the looks and brains of her mother and one of my better personalities.”
Reflecting on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tucci shared insights about navigating family dynamics during lockdown. “Cramming all these people with differing personalities, ages, needs, wants, etc. in a house for six weeks creates for an interesting dynamic,” he observed. “For the most part, things have been going very well, meaning no one has murdered anyone yet.”
Tucci’s affection for his children and commitment to family values remain evident through his heartfelt reflections and anecdotes.
