NEED TO KNOW
- Noah Wyle has three children: Owen, Auden, and Frances.
- Star of *The Pitt*, he welcomed his two older kids during his marriage to Tracy Warbin.
- In June 2015, Noah’s wife, Sara, gave birth to their daughter Frances.
Noah Wyle’s Emmy-winning success has been a source of pride for his three children: Owen, Auden, and Frances.
“You always hope your kids know how hard you work,” Wyle told PEOPLE in September 2025. “You always hope your kids know how much of yourself you put into what you do by example for them. This last year, I’ve really felt that they’ve been listening and watching, and it’s been impactful.”
Wyle became a father on November 9, 2002, when his then-wife Tracy Warbin gave birth to their son, Owen. Their daughter, Auden, arrived three years later on October 15, 2005. After their divorce, Noah married Sara Wyle in June 2014, and their daughter Frances was born one year later on June 22, 2015.
Although Noah is best known for his role as Dr. John Carter on *ER*, he revealed in March 2025 that his two eldest children have yet to watch the series. “They’ve watched more *Grey’s Anatomy* than they have *ER*,” he noted. “It’s a point of contention.”
He added, “However, the older they get and the more they seem interested in this business, the more I kind of want to hold that up as something that they might want to engage in.”
Worry not, *The Pitt* fans! His children are following in his footsteps, as all three are now watching the Emmy-winning HBO Max series where their dad stars as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. The show’s second season premiered on January 8.

Reflecting on his long career in a March 2025 interview, Wyle discussed how becoming a parent influenced his choice of roles. “My tastes changed radically after my son was born,” the *Falling Skies* star said. “After I became a father, I was suddenly very conscious of the things that my kids would be watching their father do or say.”
He noted, “It curbed some of my impulses to reach for characters that are way more on the fringe. You know, I’d rather play good guys.”

Wyle’s children have names that carry special meanings. Owen shares his father’s middle name, Strausser, while Auden is named after the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet W.H. Auden. Auden expressed in a January 2024 interview that she has a “special connection” to the writer, noting that his poem “As I Walked Out One Evening” is her favorite.

In an April 2025 appearance on *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*, Wyle humorously commented on the effects of his multiple medical roles at home. When questioned about forgetting that he’s not a real doctor, he admitted to sometimes misdiagnosing his children. “Oh, it’s a compound fracture? Maybe cold water is not going to work,” he joked.

Two of Wyle’s children are showing interest in the entertainment industry. Owen, currently studying at Boston University, is taking various film classes with the aim of breaking into the industry. “I tell him every day it’s a big tent. We have truck drivers, lawyers, carpenters,” Noah remarked. “But he really likes the circus and so it’s going to be hard to keep him out from under the big tent.”
Auden has already embarked on her acting career and is reportedly “well ahead” of where her father was at her age. In fact, she played Noah’s on-screen daughter in *Leverage: Redemption*. In October 2021, Auden shared a photo from the set on Instagram, saying, “I had the best time doing this episode with great people, and an especially great scene partner @therealnoahwyle 🤍.”

While Wyle has yet to reveal the specific path his youngest daughter may take, he believes she possesses great potential. He described Frances as “a dynamo who can do anything she wants with her life,” emphasizing his support for all his children’s journeys, stating, “everybody’s journey is their own.”
This sentiment was echoed during a birthday tribute for Frances in 2023, where Noah expressed, “You’ve made every day and every room brighter for 8 years,” alongside a photo from her birth. “We love you so.”
