Fremantle Appoints Ben Crompton as New Global Head of Entertainment
Fremantle has announced the appointment of Ben Crompton as Global Head of Entertainment, succeeding Andrew Llinares, who recently stepped down from the position. Crompton joins from NBCUniversal, where he served as Vice President of International Unscripted since 2023.
Jennifer Mullin, CEO of Fremantle, praised Crompton as a “business-minded leader,” emphasizing his potential impact on the company’s creative direction. Since Llinares’s departure, Mullin has temporarily overseen the entertainment division.
Crompton comes to Fremantle with a wealth of experience, having previously launched Lime Pictures’ U.S. operations. His notable productions include Netflix’s Dance Monsters, MTV’s True Love or True Lies, and E!’s Dating No Filter. He has also held senior creative and strategic roles at Warner Brothers in Australia, Eyeworks in the UK, and ITV Studios.
Based in London, Crompton expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “It is a great honour for me to be joining Fremantle and to work with Jennifer and such a brilliant team. I have long admired Fremantle – a company known for creativity, innovation, and groundbreaking formats. I can’t wait to get started and collaborate with the exceptional talent across the Fremantle business.”
His appointment coincides with Fremantle’s recent introduction of new entertainment formats, including HITSTER, Handcuffed, Special Delivery, Hole in One, and The Advent Calendar, showcased to buyers at the London TV Screenings.
Fremantle’s extensive entertainment catalog features well-known formats such as The Price is Right, Family Feud, Got Talent, Idol, Masked Singer, and Too Hot To Handle, reflecting the company’s significant presence in the global entertainment landscape.
