Four People Killed in Long Beach Vehicle Crash
Four individuals lost their lives in a catastrophic single-vehicle accident that occurred in Long Beach early Saturday morning. The incident, which involved a car that later caught fire, was reported at 1:18 a.m. near Lakewood Boulevard and East Spring Street.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, a 2008 Honda Accord carrying four passengers struck the center median curb, leading the driver to lose control and collide with the support wall of a nearby underpass. The impact ignited the vehicle, engulfing it in flames.
Firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. A woman who was ejected from the vehicle was discovered outside when emergency personnel arrived. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The other three fatalities—a woman and two men—were found trapped inside the car.

The Long Beach Police Department announced that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) had reviewed footage related to the crash and had independently decided to respond to the incident. Police expressed their appreciation for the agency’s assistance, noting that the NTSB is focused solely on safety matters and will not participate in the ongoing investigation.
