First Look: Thomasin McKenzie and Ansel Elgort Star in ‘Dinner With Audrey’
New images reveal Thomasin McKenzie as Audrey Hepburn and Ansel Elgort as Hubert de Givenchy in the upcoming film Dinner With Audrey, produced by Wayfarer Studios, Hyde Park Entertainment, and Mad Chance Productions. The film is currently being shot in Budapest, Hungary.
Alongside McKenzie and Elgort, the cast features twice-nominated Academy Award actress Miranda Richardson and Judy Greer, both of whom have prominent roles. Richardson will portray Hepburn’s mother, Ella Van Heemstra, while Greer will embody the legendary costume designer Edith Head. Completing the ensemble is two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon.
“Dinner with Audrey is a story grounded in history and encapsulates one of the most iconic creative partnerships across fashion and film,” said Andrew Calof, President of Production and Development for Wayfarer Studios. He emphasized the team’s commitment to honoring Hepburn and Givenchy’s friendship and legacy.
The film, directed by Abe Sylvia and written by Kara Holden—who also serves as an executive producer—explores Hepburn’s early years in 1953 Paris. At just 24, she is on the cusp of international fame but grappling with insecurities. When tasked by director Billy Wilder to select an authentic wardrobe for her role in Sabrina, she encounters a reluctant Givenchy, whose initial refusal gives way to a collaborative bond that will flourish for four decades.
Hyde Park International will present the film to international distributors at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
The production team enlisted Sophie Elgort, an accomplished photographer and the sister of Ansel Elgort, to document this pivotal moment in fashion and film history. Sophie Elgort’s impressive portfolio includes work for major publications such as Elle and Vogue.
Armitraj and Priya Amritraj are producing alongside Andrew Lazar and Vanessa Humphrey from Mad Chance Productions, with Justin Baldoni executive producing through Wayfarer. The project is being financed by Wayfarer Studios, with UTA Independent Film Group handling North American sales.
Richardson is represented by Kate Morgan at Independent Talent, while Greer is represented by Artists First, CAA, and attorney Fred Toczek.
As Dinner With Audrey progresses, anticipation builds for this exploration of one of the most significant alliances in film and fashion history.
