HBO Unveils First Look at Upcoming Harry Potter Series
HBO has officially unveiled the first teaser and a set of images for its much-anticipated Harry Potter series, now titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This reveal comes as excitement builds ahead of the show’s Christmas Day 2026 premiere.
The newly released visuals provide a glimpse into the series, featuring key characters in familiar settings. Among the highlighted scenes is Harry Potter, portrayed by Dominic McLaughlin, heading toward the Quidditch pitch in his Gryffindor cloak. The images also capture Potter navigating the halls of Hogwarts alongside his friends, Hermione (Arabella Stanton) and Ron (Alastair Stout), and arriving at Platform 9¾ with his trusty owl, Hedwig.
Among the cast members featured in the photos are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The character Severus Snape is portrayed by Paapa Essiedu, while Lox Pratt takes on the role of Draco Malfoy.
The expanded cast also includes Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, and several others, including the Weasley twins, Fred and George, played by Gabriel and Tristan Harland, respectively.
The series is backed by a talented team, with Succession veterans Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod onboard as writer and director, respectively. Gardiner acts as the showrunner and executive producer, while Mylod will direct multiple episodes and also serve as an executive producer. The project is a collaborative effort between HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television, with J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman also serving as executive producers.
As anticipation continues to build, the release of additional images and information is expected, keeping fans engaged as they await the series premiere.
