Santa Clarita Restaurant Evacuated Following Explosions
A pizza restaurant in Santa Clarita was evacuated on Sunday due to a series of explosions that occurred beneath the establishment.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a vault explosion in front of Toppers Pizza, located at 23710 Valencia Blvd, at 12:06 p.m. Firefighters noted hearing additional explosions shortly thereafter, at 12:14 and 12:16 p.m., as reported by authorities.
The source of the explosions has been identified as an electrical vault situated on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. Southern California Edison was notified at 12:21 p.m. and promptly dispatched personnel to investigate and address the situation.
