### New Emails Reveal Prince Andrew’s Meeting with Jeffrey Epstein
Newly released emails from the Department of Justice reveal that former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arranged a meeting with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein shortly after Epstein completed a house arrest sentence in 2010. This meeting has drawn considerable attention amid ongoing scrutiny of Andrew’s ties to Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 for solicitation of prostitution involving a minor.
In June 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution and was sentenced to 18 months in a minimum-security facility. He was released in 2009 but served an additional term under house arrest until August 2010. Just weeks after completing his house arrest, he reached out to Andrew to arrange a meeting, indicating a need for “private time.”
On September 27, 2010, Epstein, who referred to Andrew in his contacts as “TheDuke,” inquired whether he should bring three women to the meeting, proposing that their presence would “add some life.” In response, Andrew offered Buckingham Palace as the venue for their gathering, emphasizing the privacy it would afford, stating, “we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy.”
The emails are part of a broader release of documents pertaining to Epstein, which continue to unveil the nature of his relationship with Andrew. Notably, a photo surfaced in December showing Andrew with Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein, taken at Sandringham House, one of the royal family’s estates. Additional correspondence has emerged that details a debt Epstein helped resolve for a former staff member connected to both Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
These revelations come in the wake of Andrew’s October 2022 announcement that he would relinquish his royal titles and honors due to mounting evidence linking him to Epstein. In a statement, Buckingham Palace acknowledged that ongoing accusations had become a distraction from the duties of the Royal Family.
The ongoing disclosure of these emails underscores Andrew’s persistent connection to Epstein, which has faced public scrutiny since photographs of the two together in Central Park were shared in 2010 amid controversies regarding Epstein’s plea deal and sentencing.
