Large Bear Prompts Evacuation of Hansen Dam Park in San Fernando Valley
A large bear prompted authorities to evacuate Hansen Dam Park in the San Fernando Valley on Sunday evening, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The animal was reportedly spotted in at least three trees within the recreation area.
Following these sightings, officials closed the park, though it remains uncertain when it will reopen to the public. Fortunately, police reported no injuries related to the incident.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is currently responding to the situation, the LAPD stated.
