CBS Studios has renewed its partnership with acclaimed creators and producers Robert King and Michelle King, extending their overall deal with the studio. The couple has been collaborating with CBS Studios since 2009 and is known for their successful series over the past 15 years, including The Good Wife, its spinoffs The Good Fight and Elsbeth, the supernatural drama Evil, and the Bryan Cranston-led series Your Honor.
As part of the renewed agreement, the Kings will continue to develop, write, and produce new series for both streaming and broadcast under their production company, King Size Productions. Robert King will also maintain his role as director. The duo, who have been creative partners for nearly three decades and married for almost 40 years, have consistently demonstrated their knack for compelling storytelling.
David Stapf, President of CBS Studios, praised the Kings’ contributions to the network, stating, “For over 15 years, Robert and Michelle have been an integral part of the CBS Studios family, creating smart, provocative, and often prescient series that elevated a genre and redefined what television could be.” He emphasized their unique ability to combine insight with heart and humor, creating richly developed characters and narratives. Stapf expressed enthusiasm about their future projects, saying, “We’re honored to continue building with them, and can’t wait to see where their creative curiosity and bold writing take audiences next.”
In a joint statement, the Kings reflected on their collaboration with CBS Studios, noting their positive experiences working with executives like George Cheeks and David Stapf. They remarked, “There’s nothing better for a writer/producer than having smart, creative collaborators that you trust, and having them trust you. It allows you to take chances you wouldn’t normally take. So here we go.”
The Kings have also contributed to CBS with BrainDead and Paramount+’s Happy Face. They are represented by UTA and Del Shaw Moonves.
