Erika Jayne has opened up about her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, during a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. During the Dec. 11 episode, Jayne shared her emotional state, revealing that she remains affected by Girardi’s legal troubles and imprisonment.
At a spa day with co-star Sutton Stracke, the 54-year-old singer remarked, “I’m heartbroken. It f—— sucks knowing that person and being married to that person for so long. Then to see him walk down the courtroom steps like that knowing he’s going to die in prison, that’s heavy on any level.”
Stracke questioned Jayne about whether she plans to “say goodbye” to Girardi, who reported to prison in July to begin serving his sentence. In 2024, Girardi was convicted of four counts of wire fraud and found guilty of embezzling over $15 million from clients over the course of ten years.
“I don’t know, but I’ve thought that exact same thing, ‘What do I do?’” Jayne replied. “I said this to somebody the other day, I just kind of hoped he’d die before he’d go to prison, just so he could get it over with.”

Jayne noted that Girardi was sentenced on his 86th birthday in June and is reportedly in declining health. In a confessional, she elaborated on her feelings about potentially visiting him in prison, questioning, “Would he even want to see me? Would he know who I am? Is there going to be some magical answer to all the questions I have? No.”
Reflecting on her journey, Jayne stated, “I’ve realized through a lot of therapy sometimes you’re not getting closure — you have to close it yourself. Five years later, I’m still fighting my way out of this. I still have civil cases that are in motion. I don’t know that I’ll ever get away from any of this. I don’t know what happens to me in the end.”
Jayne filed for divorce from Girardi in 2020 after more than two decades of marriage. Following their separation, Girardi was diagnosed with dementia and late-onset Alzheimer’s, and his legal issues gained public attention, raising questions about Jayne’s involvement, a claim she has denied.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, with episodes available for streaming the following day.
