Kim Kardashian has opened up about her bold choice of jewelry in court during her testimony related to the high-profile 2016 Paris robbery.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, airing on December 4, Kardashian, 45, spoke candidly as she prepared to testify against those involved in her robbery. “Should I wear the ring that they stole from me that I ended up replacing?” she said, while adorning herself with the massive, 22-carat diamond. She also wore a necklace and ear cuff, emphasizing her lavish look.
When her mother, Kris Jenner, raised concerns about the jewelry, Kardashian confidently responded, “They’re not gonna take my power. I wanna be who I wanna be, and I feel like they took that away from me for so long.”
In a reflective confessional interview, Kardashian elaborated on her past struggles with wearing jewelry: “For years, I didn’t wear diamonds … it changed the way that I operate in my home,” she explained. “But, like, again, on the final straw, you’re still telling me what I’m not allowed to do because of what these people have done?” She stated, “I want to taunt the f— out of these losers. I wanna wear whatever the f— I wanna wear, if I wanna wear it.”

Even after receiving advice from Kris to opt for more subdued jewelry, Kardashian remained steadfast in her decision to wear significant pieces.
On May 13, Kardashian appeared at the Palais de Justice in Paris to testify against suspects linked to the robbery. Dressed in a sleek black blazer and matching skirt, her dazzling diamonds captured the spotlight.
In addition to the 22-carat ring, Kardashian donned a striking $3 million diamond necklace by Samer Halimeh New York, consisting of 80 diamonds totaling 52.17 carats, alongside an 18K gold ear cuff.

Jewelry expert Laura Taylor, commenting on the significance of her appearance, noted, “This isn’t just another public appearance; it’s the first time she has come face to face with the people who tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and stole millions worth of jewelry. She knew the cameras would be there, the images would be shared globally, and in typical Kim fashion, she made sure she was in control of how she was seen.”
Nearly a decade after the infamous robbery during Paris Fashion Week, Kardashian took the stand to confront the suspects. Following several delays in the trial, eight out of ten defendants were ultimately found guilty.
After the verdict, Kardashian expressed the emotional toll of the crime: “The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family. While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system.”
