Sean McEwen Completes Filming on Indie Dramedy ‘Turnbuckle’ Starring Emile Hirsch and Kate Beckinsale
Sean McEwen, writer and director, has officially wrapped production on Turnbuckle, an independent dramedy infused with action elements. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Emile Hirsch, known for his role in Into the Wild, Kate Beckinsale from the Underworld series, and Terrence Howard, acclaimed for Hustle & Flow. Other cast members include Evan Ross, Cara Delevingne, and Famke Janssen.
Filmed in Arkansas, the specific plot details of Turnbuckle remain confidential. However, it is described as a darkly comic Southern narrative that explores themes of redemption, survival, and the chaos of small-town life.
Evan Ross and Greg Carney led the producing team under their newly established company, Film Mafia Entertainment. They were joined by Daemon Hillin of Hillin Entertainment, Ryan R. Johnson from Sprockefellar Pictures, Mia Chang of Tunnel Post, and executive producers Mira Pak Howard, Terrence Howard, and Alexander Foard, with casting directed by Freedom United.
The cast also includes Macy Gray, Sam Strike, Lily Mo Sheen, Randall J. Bacon, and Tammin Sursok, further enhancing the film’s diverse talent.
McEwen’s previous work includes American Otlaws, featuring India Eisley and Emory Cohen, as well as the dramedy Braking for Whales, starring Tom Felton. He is represented by Bellevue Productions and Miloknay Weiner.
