Elon Musk Speaks Out on Christopher Nolan’s Casting Choices for The Odyssey’s Helen of Troy
As anticipation grows for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, some moviegoers are already expressing their concerns about the adaptation.
Elon Musk has weighed in on speculation that Lupita Nyong’o will portray Helen of Troy in the cinematic retelling, which is set to premiere on July 17. Musk has raised questions about Nolan’s artistic integrity in light of this unconfirmed casting.
In a response on X, Musk addressed a user who stated that Helen, as depicted in Homer’s work, is described as “fair-skinned, blonde, and the face that launched a thousand ships,” arguing that such casting choices could undermine the author’s original vision. Musk labeled the casting speculation as “an insult to the author.”
“Chris Nolan has lost his integrity,” Musk wrote on the platform he owns.
