Elizabeth Olsen Shares Her Thoughts on Scarlet Witch’s Future in the MCU and Upcoming Avengers Films
Elizabeth Olsen Discusses Future of Scarlet Witch in Marvel Cinematic Universe
Elizabeth Olsen recently spoke at C2E2 about her uncertain future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly regarding her roles in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
During the event, when asked about her involvement with Doomsday, Olsen candidly stated, “I know nothing.” She added that her recent interactions with co-star Paul Bettany provided her only insight into the forthcoming project, mentioning that she is still largely uninformed about it.
On the topic of Secret Wars, Olsen quipped, “Is that what happens after this day? I’m not kidding.” This remark underscores the level of secrecy that Marvel maintains regarding its films. Known for keeping details under wraps, Olsen confirmed that she is genuinely unaware of the future direction of her character, emphasizing, “It’s safer for me to not know anything because then I can’t make a mistake in a situation like this. I rather know nothing.”
Olsen acknowledged the potential for her comments to be misinterpreted, highlighting the importance of her words being placed in the right context. While she did not confirm any specific involvement in upcoming MCU projects, she expressed that she has previously proposed ideas for her character when discussions arose. “It’s been a minute since I’ve had those types of conversations,” she noted.
“I just want to be of service to telling these stories better each time,” Olsen remarked, emphasizing her desire to contribute meaningfully to the narratives within the Marvel universe rather than simply making an appearance for the sake of a plot twist.
