Electric School Bus Catches Fire in Lake View Terrace
LOS ANGELES – An electric school bus from the Los Angeles Unified School District caught fire Wednesday afternoon while operating underneath the 210 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley. The driver was subsequently hospitalized, according to authorities.
California Highway Patrol officials reported that the incident occurred near the intersection of the 210 Freeway and Osbourne Street in the Lake View Terrace area. Remarkable aerial footage captured by SkyFOX displayed flames erupting from the bus as firefighters from Los Angeles City worked diligently to extinguish the blaze.
Fortunately, there were no students on board at the time of the fire. However, the driver was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
As of now, the identity of the bus driver has not been made public, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
