Donald Trump has introduced a new name for the Republican Party and hinted at a potential bid for a third term as president, despite constitutional limitations. On Saturday, November 29, the 79-year-old former president shared an AI-generated image of himself on Truth Social. In the image, he holds a campaign sign reading “TRUMP 2028, YES!”
Accompanying the image, he declared, “TRUMPLICANS!” This post followed Trump’s earlier attempt to coin a new term for his supporters, suggesting the names “TEPUBLICAN” or “TPUBLICAN.”

Trump’s recent remarks on potentially seeking a third term are not unprecedented. Despite the 22nd Amendment’s restrictions, he previously hinted at possible “methods” to bypass the limitation and has marketed “Trump 2028” merchandise.
In a March interview with NBC News, Trump remarked, “A lot of people want me to do it,” referring to a third-term run. He acknowledged, however, that it was early in the administration and added, “I’m not joking. But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it.”

Recently, Trump appeared to temper his prior assertions, admitting that he would not legally be able to run for a third term. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One in South Korea on October 29, he remarked that “it’s pretty clear” he could not pursue another campaign, a sentiment supported by the 22nd Amendment, which states, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”
“Based on what I read, I guess I’m not allowed to run,” Trump concluded. “So we’ll see what happens.”
