Disney+ EMEA Team Elevates ‘Rivals’ Commissioner and Three Others as Content Chief Angela Jain Shares Her Vision
Disney+ Elevates Four Executives in EMEA Amid Strategic Changes
Disney+ has announced the promotion of four executives in Europe as Angela Jain, the newly appointed content chief, aims to position her team for long-term success in the EMEA region.
In her initial major decision in the role, Jain has elevated Lee Mason, previously the commissioner for Rivals, and Sean Doyle, who oversaw Blind Date, to Vice Presidents of Scripted and Unscripted content, respectively. Both executives have been integral to the Disney+ international commissioning team in London since its early days, having held the titles of Executive Director of Scripted Originals and Unscripted since late 2024.
In addition to Mason and Doyle, Jonny Richards, an executive with A Thousand Blows, has been promoted to Director of Scripted content for the UK and EMEA. Kevin Deysson, the director of original productions in France, will now serve as Vice President.
“These changes are focused on how we structure and strengthen the team for what comes next,” Jain stated. She emphasized the need for leaders with expertise, judgment, and vision to drive teams, nurture talent, and consistently deliver content of the highest quality. Jain further expressed her commitment to building a team geared towards the future, highlighting the ongoing expansion of Disney+’s original programming pipeline and a focus on ambitious new projects.
Disney+ has been producing international originals for six years, boasting successful titles such as Rivals, The Good Mothers, and Extraordinary. Jain, who previously led unscripted content at ITV Studios, took over the EMEA content role last year, following a detailed recruitment process that included an effort to attract former BBC content chief Charlotte Moore.
Jain reports directly to Eric Schrier, president of Disney Television Studios and Global Original Television Strategy, who was recently in London to engage with producers, media, and commissioners at the Content London event.
The week has been eventful for Disney in the EMEA region, highlighted by a recent talent partnership with Stephen Graham’s independent production company in connection with projects Adolescence and A Thousand Blows.
