In a revealing interview, Pamela Anderson has opened up about her brief romantic involvement with Liam Neeson following their collaboration on the summer box office hit, The Naked Gun. As Anderson celebrates a remarkable year, she chose to address the relationship for the first time in the latest issue of PEOPLE.
In her interview, the 58-year-old actress shares intimate memories from their time together. “If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” she said. The duo spent what Anderson describes as an “intimate week” at Neeson’s home in upstate New York, where she had her own room while their assistants and even family members visited.
The romance reportedly flourished during a charming dinner at a small French restaurant, where Neeson jokingly introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.” The two also enjoyed moments in his garden, tending to a rosebush, which Anderson described as a happy task that Neeson appreciated.
After what Anderson calls their “romantic lost week,” the pair eventually parted ways to pursue other projects. However, they reconnect while promoting The Naked Gun over the summer, where public displays of affection included cuddling and hand-holding. During an appearance on What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Anderson playfully swiped Neeson with her lip balm brand, Sonsie.
Reflecting on their time together, Anderson humorously compared their relationship to a romantic film, stating, “It was a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.” She expressed her exasperation at suggestions that their romance was merely a publicity stunt, declaring, “This is real. We have real feelings.”
While their romantic connection may have faded, Anderson emphasized the significance of their friendship. “I adore Liam,” she remarked, adding, “but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
The two last saw each other in August, when Neeson surprised Anderson by attending her performance in Tennessee Williams’ Camino Real at the Williamstown Theater Festival. Anderson noted that Neeson has been a strong supporter of her evolving career, stating, “He kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
