Diplo Wasn’t a Grassy Bush at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show: Here’s Why

Diplo’s recent video, depicting him as one of the iconic grassy bushes from Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8, has raised eyebrows for appearing to be AI-generated.
The clip, shared on February 13, features Diplo in a bush costume among a group of dancing shrubs on the football field, with the word “surprise” superimposed over the footage.
However, several discrepancies have been noted. The bush costume Diplo wears does not resemble the taller and spikier designs featured during the actual performance. Furthermore, the view of the field does not showcase key elements of the extensive halftime production, which included Bad Bunny’s notable casita and a host of celebrity guests such as Jessica Alba and Cardi B. The clip also depicts a stadium with a roof, despite Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where Super Bowl LX was held, being an open-air venue.
Despite the inaccuracies, the post elicited a wave of humorous responses, with one commenter quipping that it represented “a new level of industry plant.” Diplo, a consistent presence at the Super Bowl, attended this year’s event and performed a set at San Francisco’s Pier 80 with Calvin Harris just days prior, on February 6.
In contrast, Bad Bunny, who undeniably performed at the halftime show, experienced the second-largest streaming day of his career on February 9, the day following his groundbreaking performance.
