Dilan Çiçek Deniz Talks About Juggling Film, TV, Theater, and Her Journey into Filmmaking at Red Sea Studio
Turkish actress Çiçek Deniz is making waves in the entertainment industry with her diverse roles across various platforms. Renowned for her performances in streaming dramas such as Persona, the Netflix original movie One-Way To Tomorrow, and films like Season Of Love, she has also appeared in popular television series including The Pit and Crossroads. Currently, she portrays Constance, the wife of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in a long-running stage production of Amadeus. “Everything feeds each other,” Deniz remarked. “I have to do everything at the same time.”
Deniz highlighted the distinctive dynamics each medium offers: “Mainstream TV series are so technical, while in movies you can have more time to prepare, and you can dive into character.” This versatility allows her to explore various aspects of her craft, contributing to her evolving artistry.

Discussing the emotional connection she fosters with audiences during her theater performances, Deniz shared, “There are 2,000 people every night, and when I go on the stage it feels like an open wound. And every time, when the [audience] clap at the end of the play, I feel like I’m healed. There’s a therapeutic side in acting also, but doing it with the audience, feeling their energy, I can’t even put that into words.”
With aspirations to broaden her impact in the film industry, Çiçek Deniz expressed her desire to delve deeper into filmmaking. She has already directed two short films, including We Need To Talk About Dilan, which was featured at the recent Cairo Film Festival. “I want to do this more; I want to produce more, and maybe a movie,” she stated, indicating her commitment to expanding her artistic horizons.
