Dan Levy’s New Comedy Series ‘Big Mistakes’ on Netflix: Release Date and First Trailer Revealed
Netflix has announced that Dan Levy’s new family crime comedy series, Big Mistakes, will premiere on April 9. The streaming service also released the first trailer and several images to provide an initial look at the show.
Starring alongside Levy are Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf, along with Abby Quinn, Boran Kuzum, Jack Innanen, Elizabeth Perkins, Mark Ivanir, Ilia Volok, Jacob Gutierrez, Joe Barbara, and Darren Goldstein.
Created and executive produced by Levy and Rachel Sennott, Big Mistakes follows Nicky (Levy) and Morgan (Ortega), two inept siblings who find themselves embroiled in the criminal underworld after a misguided theft intended for their sick grandmother goes awry. As they are blackmailed into riskier assignments, their clumsiness leads them deeper into chaos.
Earlier this week, a mysterious billboard appeared on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles featuring a diamond necklace that spelled out “4.9.26.” The enigmatic ad gained attention until Netflix later posted an augmented reality video depicting the necklace being “stolen.” That evening, images of Levy, Ortega, Metcalf, Quinn, Kuzum, and Innanen, each wearing the necklace, revealed their roles in the heist, culminating in the announcement of the series’ premiere date and trailer release.

Big Mistakes marks Levy’s first series under his overall television deal with Netflix and is his second original scripted show, following the acclaimed Schitt’s Creek. In 2023, Levy made his feature directorial debut with Good Grief, which he also wrote and stars in alongside Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel, and Luke Evans.
Levy serves as showrunner, with Anne-Marie McGintee executive producing for Not a Real Production Company, along with Dean Holland (Episodes 101, 102), Etan Frankel, and Timothy Greenberg.
