Cole Walliser from Glambot Stands Up for Jennifer Lopez Amid Golden Globes Criticism
Canadian filmmaker Cole Walliser, director of Jennifer Lopez’s Glambot video at the 2026 Golden Globes, responded to fans’ criticisms labeling the singer as “rude” during their recent interaction. Walliser, who filmed Lopez during the awards ceremony held on January 11, addressed the situation via a TikTok post on January 18.
In his video, Walliser, 44, explained that he did not perceive Lopez’s demeanor as disrespectful, noting, “I didn’t take it personally, it didn’t feel rude in that moment. One, she’s just down to business … she’s ready to go inside.” He acknowledged that Lopez was prepared for her role and that the angle of the film setup may have caused the disconnect.
Lopez, 56, was on the red carpet as a presenter when Walliser’s TikTok post drew criticism from some viewers. Comments included one that read, “My favorite part was when she didn’t look at, speak to, or smile at you,” while another questioned, “Did JLo even speak a word to you?”
In his defense, Walliser highlighted the intense pressures celebrities face during such events. “Glambots are completely elective; nobody’s forcing you to do these things,” he stated. He expressed appreciation for those who choose to participate, underscoring that celebrities can opt out if they’re not in the right mindset. “If you want to do it, you can; if you’re in a bad attitude, you don’t have to do it,” he added.
Walliser recognized that Lopez was clearly busy and noted, “At that moment, I’m not, like, ‘Hey, turn around.’ That moment didn’t feel rude.” He emphasized that in his years of filming various celebrities as part of the Glambot series, he has “never felt” that anyone was rude towards him.

Walliser, known for his work with several high-profile celebrities, including Ariana Grande and Brad Pitt, reiterated that he does not take singers’ distractions or low energy personally. “When people are distracted, or less chatty, or thinking about other stuff, I don’t take it personally,” he remarked.
In closing, Walliser extended gratitude to fans who supported him in addressing the situation, reinforcing his commitment to maintaining a positive environment in his work as a celebrity filmmaker.
