Cineverse Secures North American Distribution for ‘Dragn’
Cineverse has secured the North American distribution rights to the upcoming film Dragn from Myriad Pictures.
Directed by Peter Webber, known for Hannibal Rising, the film features a screenplay by Barry Hutchison, recognized for Supermansion, and Alexander Gordon Smith, who wrote The Box.
The cast is headlined by James Paxton (Twisters), Lilly Krug (Plane), Carlos Bardem (Assassin’s Creed), and Alice Pagani (Don’t Kill Me). They are joined by Jadran Malkovich (The Ark), Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow), and Alex Lane (A Very Secret Service).
Dragn tells the story of colleagues on a routine corporate team-building trip that turns into a nightmare when they become targets of a rogue AI-driven drone. The film explores themes such as the fragility of the human mind, the perils of AI warfare, and the resilience needed to face terrors in an increasingly digital age.
Produced by Alex Lane, Oleg Shardin, and Georgia Witkin, the film’s executive producers include Kirk D’Amico, Sandy Climan, Michael Tadross, Barry Hutchison, Alexander Gordon Smith, Joachim Laqueur, Igor Shardin, Vasiliy Lantsov, Carolin Springborn, and Aleksandr Alpern.
In a recent statement, Fisher noted, "This film blends modern technological anxiety with classic survival suspense. Dragn follows a group of innocent employees whose weekend in the woods at a mundane corporate retreat suddenly spirals into a relentless, high-stakes nightmare – well-timed with modern day.”
