### McCaffrey Embraces Fatherhood
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is celebrating his role as a father, sharing insights about his daughter, Colette, who is just five months old. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, he expressed how important it is for him to see his daughter before games, stating that it is “everything.”
“My family is one of the reasons I play,” McCaffrey shared during a Zoom conversation. “Whenever you get to see them right before you go out to battle, it’s a quick reminder of why you’re doing it.” He further elaborated, “It means everything to have my family there. I got to watch my dad play when I was a kid. I know my daughter won’t remember it, but just knowing she was there and able to be present when I played means a lot to me.”

Discussing Colette’s game-day attire, McCaffrey chuckled, “Yeah, if you know her mom, she’ll dress her up, that’s for sure,” referencing his wife, Olivia Culpo. Recently, Culpo shared photos on Instagram of Colette, who was dressed in 49ers colors while cheering for McCaffrey during a game against the Tennessee Titans.
Colette’s outfit included a white fuzzy hat and a red sweater resembling McCaffrey’s jersey, complete with his number 23 stitched onto the sleeve. The sweater was created by Stitched by Rox and Doloris Petunia and proudly featured the phrase “let’s go” embroidered in white on the back. Culpo celebrated the team’s 37-24 victory, commenting, “NINERS WINNNNNNN 😍😍.”
In the interview, McCaffrey also addressed the family’s plans for the holidays amidst the busy NFL season. “Our lives are so hectic, especially during football season,” he explained. “Sometimes you’re playing on Christmas, practicing, doing treatments — it’s chaotic. Christmas has always been that way for me. We’re just blessed if we can get our family together — that’s the tradition.”
He concluded, “Once I’m done playing, we’ll hone in on holiday traditions, but for now, getting as many family members together is a huge win.”
