Chris Rock Joins Paul Rudd in Voice Cast for Goodnight, Lamby
In an exciting development for animation and film enthusiasts, Chris Rock has signed on to lend his voice alongside Paul Rudd in the upcoming live-action-animation hybrid short film, Goodnight, Lamby. The film, directed by artist and filmmaker Dustin Yellin, is set to debut next week as part of the Cannes Classics lineup at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Produced by Darren Aronofsky and Justin A. Gonçalves, Goodnight, Lamby also features an original song by Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Maggie Rogers. The film’s storyline follows three-year-old Zia, who embarks on an adventurous quest to find her missing stuffed toy, Lamby, navigating through her father’s surreal sculptures—an expansive world that includes oceans, caves, and outer space. The journey promises to be one of courage, wonder, and self-discovery.
In this animation, Rock voices the character ‘Copernipus’, joining Rudd, who plays ‘Papa’, and Zia Copernicus Yellin, who voices the title character, ‘Zia’.
Goodnight, Lamby marks Yellin’s directorial debut, with executive production led by Dylan Golden, Ari Handel, and Nick St. Pierre. The film results from collaboration among production companies Primordial Soup, Villavicencio Studio, and Google DeepMind.
Dustin Yellin, a Brooklyn-based artist known for his innovative work blending object-making, painting, animation, and architecture, has crafted this unique project as a fresh contribution to the realm of animated storytelling.
